IT Solution for Importers and Customs Representatives

MyCustoms, an innovative customs clearance cloud platform, presented at TransRussia. Aleksei Mavropulo, a representative of the developer, discussed its advantages.

We met with Aleksei Mavropulo, Director of Sales of MyCustoms, a customs clearance cloud platform, at TransRussia, Russia's largest exhibition of transport and logistics services, warehouse equipment and technologies, held at Crocus Expo in April of this year. MyCustoms, a platform launched this year, was presented at the exhibition.
The first question we asked was what inspired the authors to create this platform.

–– I must say that although this project can be classified as a startup, we have already gone through a series of successful tests with our partners, and based on their results have carried out a number of applications. As for the source of inspiration, it is easy to see that we are following a general trend. The trend of digitalization of the economy and business has gone nowhere and continues to develop. These days, it is hard to perform any kind of operation without using digital technologies. This is the driver. The nature of foreign economic activity is the need to make accurate and quick decisions to maintain the process of cargo transportation without any delays.

–– Who is your product for?

–– First of all, it is important to note that MyCustoms is not a marketplace. This is the universal online platform for customs declarations. It works according to the principle of single window interaction for all members in foreign economic activity, both for importers and customs representatives.

–– What is new about it that was not on the market before? What benefits does the platform provide?

–– The platform allows you to significantly increase the efficiency of interaction between partners to achieve more accurate and timely results. In particular, it can automatically insert CN FEA codes. We also offer a customs fees calculator, which makes it possible to calculate in advance the cost of delivered cargo and all other expenses related to imports. This greatly simplifies and speeds up the work. The service itself, as I said, is built on the principle of single window in personal accounts, which makes the communication more accurate and of higher quality.
You may have noticed that I say the word "accuracy" a lot. This is the key word for this service. The fact is that before its integration into the system of those importers we cooperate with, they used multiple communication methods: phones, mail, various messengers. And that was the case for everyone. Our platform enables all processes within a single system in a dedicated chat. Accordingly, it saves the entire history of correspondence and document flow available to the members of the communication chain involved in the process. In addition, the cloud service provides a unified archive for storing all documentation. This is especially important for foreign economic activity. In our practice, we have seen that clients stored the necessary documents wherever was convenient for them, in different places, resulting in their frequent corruption or loss. MyCustoms has a notification system that promptly informs the parties about the lack of a given document.

–– How can somebody start using the platform?

–– All you need to do is sign up, and get a login and a password. The system is quite simple and logical. We also provide full technical support, training and assistance.
